About Bay FM Management

Bay FM is a local family owned and operated business… the owners, Geoff and Jean Brown have wealth of experience in the radio industry.

Geoff has been in the industry for over 40 years and has occupied senior management positions at many leading radio stations... 3MP, 3KZ, 2GB, 2CA, FM104.7 ... and Jean at major stations (2UE, 3MP) and large multinational advertising agencies (Saatchi & Saatchi)…

Bay FM was first licenced on 29th April, 1998 and commenced brodcasting on 98.3mHz. The frequency changed to 99.3 on 8th August, 2003.

Bay FM broadcasts from a transmitter site on Gan Gan Hill, Nelson Bay.

Bay FM 99.3 is also a proud supporter of the Nelson Bay Blues RLFC.

You'll hear our Breakfast Announcer, Reg Dowton, doing the Ground Announcements at all the Blues Home games, and a full report on the weekend's games each Monday morning on Bay FM.

For the 2010 season, the Centenary of the Blues, the Club is switching its name back to the Northern Blues to reflect their proud history. Read news stories here.
